Chemistry Minor
Gain creative and analytical insight into this 鈥渃entral science,鈥 which bridges physics, geology and biology.
Our program allows you to explore the fundamental principles of chemistry and understand how it bridges physics, geology and biology.
Through courses general chemistry, qualitative analysis and organic chemistry, plus extensive laboratory experience, you will develop a broad understanding of principles, theories and calculations used in the field.
A minor in chemistry is particularly useful if you are striving for a career in environmental science, biology, business, law or education. Additionally, a minor in chemistry helps to prepare you for graduate study in pharmacy, dentistry, medicine, forensics and biotechnology.
A minor in Chemistry requires 22-23 hours consisting of the following:
-
Minor Requirements
- CHE 103聽-聽General Chemistry and Qualitative Analysis I
- CHE 103L聽-聽General Chemistry and Qualitative Analysis Laboratory I
- CHE 104聽-聽General Chemistry and Qualitative Analysis II
- CHE 104L聽-聽General Chemistry and Qualitative Analysis Laboratory II
- CHE 201聽-聽Organic Chemistry
- CHE 201L聽-聽Organic Chemistry Laboratory
- CHE 202聽-聽Organic Chemistry
- CHE 202L聽-聽Organic Chemistry Laboratory
- CHE 321聽-聽Analytical Chemistry I
- CHE 321L聽-聽Analytical Chemistry I Laboratory
- CHE Electives above CHE 210 Hours: 3-4

I chose a minor in chemistry because I wanted to showcase my strength in biology and also chemistry. It was easy for me to add the chemistry minor without making my class schedule impossible.
